How was the faith of an artist rewarded in a difficult situation that looked completely hopeless? The chemicals for her work, which she has taken a contract for, was not forthcoming. Do you have ways by which you speak, and others understand? Note she was asked – what are you doing about it? The question reminded her of what she would do in a situation like the one in which she found herself.
She went on her knees taking God at his word. Hear her prayer, referring to a miracle mentioned in scripture. Do you view your work as being given to you by God? Remember ‘give thanks to God in everything’; so, she could say ‘..if you have supplied, support me ooh.’ Many are the ‘things’ that have been done because of God’s help in situations that would otherwise have been impossible. Because God knows our needs even before we ask Him. She acted on her faith. Hoping against hope, they were able to clear the order for which she had prayed. It was only when the chemicals for the artwork arrived that the old one completely dried up. The Widow of Zarephat
This miracle is just like that of the widow of Zarephath in Isaiah 17:7-16 whom Elijah visited, and the empty jars being filled – the last one was completely full before the oil stopped flowing. He also multiplied the meal or flour and that the widow had. Let’s remember that the artist made the effort to do something about the situation, calling the company in vain. Then she remembered to pray. Sounds familiar? Then the Lord appeared.
